Preponing visa interview without very valid reason cud be harmful. u never know, if they catch ur wife telling a lie then ull be walking on thin ice.
I disagree with this statement. Your most compelling argument of preponing your visa interview is that they have opened slots which were not earlier available and you would like to finish this process and keep some time incase some additional documentation was required, you would have the time to get it. Also, there is NO RULE that says you cannot prepone appointment.
Also, I suggested you get a fresh appointment at Mumbai (your original appointment was in Chennai - correct?)

Even though the effect of retrogression is expected to reduce from the current 8+ years, it is still going to hover around 5 years in 2012 (assuming a weak economy and minimal filings).
This line isn't true anymore for EB3 India after correcting the typo in dates. I believe this can be deleted because even in 2012 the wait time is 8+ years. With huge CP numbers (~20K) for EB3I, the wait time will surely increase further which is not factored in the report.

Even as it stands RIGHT NOW without the "New AC21 Rules", you cannot use AC21 unless your I-140 is approved. The basic principle of AC21 is "If your I-140 is APPROVED AND your I-485 application has been pending for more than 180 days" you can switch jobs and not lose anything.

You mean to say that "Those who have EAD with PD 2006/2007" needs green Card and you dont bother about PD 2000-2005 from Backlog who never got a chance to apply i-485 ?
Moral: Allow the people to suffer who are suffering and let others make merry(PD 2006-2007).
I am just giving my observations. I (and most of the people here) know the pain in waiting on H1-B. Definitely the ability to file I 485 desrves higher priority.

USCIS is not just working on technical people; and they themselves are not technical people. Therefore, just try to have description of new job as close to the original description in LC, as possible (use same words). It is a subjective area. Both titles point out that you are some sort of software engineer, so, I belive, it should be ok. Try to avoid "managing" or "suprervising" in your new job description if it was not in the original description.

Where is the law that says they can release visa numbers only on a quarterly basis? If that is true, then
1. The Feb bulletin would not have said EB-2 India had used up its annual limit.
2. The June Bulletin would not have said EB-3 will retrogress or become unavailable starting July [which starts a new quarter].
Both make no sense. Or alternatively, there is no such law and DOS can release visa numbers without the "quarterly" constraint. It may have been a practise in the past, but clearly since 2007, they have become keen to see visa numbers not go waste and they appear to have changed the trend.
Only a tiny fraction of applications are on . It really is nowhere enough to draw a meaningful analysis of approval trends.

I am in 4'th year of H1b. I filed for I 140 and got approved in May 2006.
After that I changed my company. My new company is going to apply for my GC In jun.
I know that I can use previous priority date from employer 1. But my question is with this new CIR bill Will my case be considered under old system?

I'm not sure how voting on this site is going to improve the chances of this bill. It is simply an application site 2 companies have created. It does not do us any good by voting on such site. It is like voting on petitiononline site annonymously. Pls help me understand the benefits if I am incorrect in understanding this site.
As mentioned earlier, If people really want to do something, Join your state chapter ASAP. We are planning a massive campiagn in the near future. The decision to pursue it will depend on the strength and execution by chapter members.

A big weight off my shoulders. Much more freedom in getting new jobs. Easier to travel. Planning to buy a house finally!!!
- What did you do on the day you received it?
Went out with friends and just enjoyed the feeling of freedom
-How did the long wait upset your life?
The feeling of uncertanity was terrible. Had to put lots of stuff on hold, like buying a house.
-How did immigrationvoice help you during this long wait?
The forum on this web site was like a gem. Learnt a lot from the experiences of the others.

That you have send the right documents, but it doesnt mean it cant be rejected in the future
Experts correct me if I am wrong
Receipt Notice means they accepted the case for reveiwing. I guess these rejections came after they reveiwed the case.

They do not accept Indian 3 yr bachelors & 2/3years of Masters + 5 years for EB2. This has been discussed lot of times. They expect single 4 year degree.
15yrs of education(India Bachelors) + 5 or more years of education for EB3 is accepted if certain qualifiers are included in the Labor.
Just take care if you are dealing with attorney who saying above thing.

I got the scanned copy of the RFE of my wife's case from my attorney this morning, here are the details - "Need secondary evidence to demonstrate the claimed relationship..."

how does one know NC is cleared? do you see an update?
No. Mine was cleared on July 22nd,08 - But did not see any LUDs.
If you had two different A#s (140 and 485) you will see an LUD on 140 when they reconcile the two.
