But wait, Americans are already saying that.
So, Senator Ensign, good for you, you did not break the law in Nevada by committing adultery and cheating on your wife. However, you have sacrificed the "moral high ground" you may have thought you once had. And while your wife is apparently is willing to forgive you, frankly, I doubt anyone else is. An A# is allotted whenever you file for AOS (either employment or relationship based or any other category eligible) and the USCIS accepts your I-485. This will be your A# for the rest of your life and will be on any subsequent filings (irrespective of the category .. immigrant or non-immigrant) with the USCIS.
I am not really sure about the A# allotted when you file for F1/OPT (I never had an F1). Please check with a qualified legal specialist.

I have seen previous forums stating that OPT A#s begin with a "1" which connotes an OPT status; however I am not clear whether we are supposed to use that same A# on our I-485 and other GC-related documents, or leave that space blank.

Hi,
I'm trying to schedule my visa stamping date in aug /sept time frame in India. In delhi consulate when I click on Indian resident I see the available dates but when I click on Indian citizen residing in US, I see no availability. I'm not sure which option should I choose. I'm a student working on OPT in US. My OPT will expire on Aug 4th and so I will come to India. I'm not sure which of the two options I have to choose while scheduling an interview :
Resident of India/Bhutan
OR
Indian Citizen residing in United States.
I would really appreciate any help in this matter.

Hi
I came to the US on H4 and then applied for H1-B. My H4 visa expired. My H1-B was approved but I was not staffed and hence not paid for the past one year and as a result I do not have pay stubs. I do not have the H1-B stamping on my passport. Now I want to apply for H4 from my home country based on my husband's H1-B.
My question is when I fill in the DS156 form what should I fill in for the following parts
1. #20 and #21 - Name and address of you current employer and Present Occupation
(Would I have to give details about the employer who filed my H1-B even though I do not have H1-B stamp on my passport)
2. #30 Have you ever been issued a US Visa - Yes/No (I do not have the H1-B stamp, I only have the previous H4 stamp)
When , Where, What Type of Visa (Would I have to mention about my H1 or H4?)
Please can anyone help me with these questions

It is required that you send photos for your ead as they put your picture on the actual ead card. I did not apply for AP so I am not sure about the requirements for that. Good luck to you.

Your H1B is tied to your current company. If your new employer wants to hire you, they have to file a separate H1B for you.
So your answer should be. "I need H1B sponsorship to work."

By chance, I was browsing the USCIS homepage when I came across guidelines for the change of address form. It says that not changing your address within 10 days is a criminal misdemeanor. Does anyone know when this law was passed?
