Right now for all bills that Zoe proposed there are max 19 co sponser for this last bill. DID you check for STRIVE ACT 2007 which had 78 co-sponsers still could not make it to floor.
We need to call these lawmakers and educated them on these bills.
Chances are less but our investment is not that big. Few minutes in a day to call or write.

They are just pointing to one side of story. Yes H1B program has been massively misused by corporations and LLC's ( This includes L1 visa). Yes they have injected huge foreigh labor into US markets (till 2004 it was 120K I beleive and now it is at 80K with L1 extra).
But then there is other side of the story. Look at the competativeness of US companies due to these workers. Look at the massive amount of e-commerece, B2C and B2B commerce that was possible because of the work that these workers have done. Yes it reduced labor cost's and increased the pool of talent that employer could chose from. But then labor cost's were always conforming to DOL laws & prewailing wages for each occassion for most cases ( except few bad eggs, which I beleive was very small percentage of this program). So wages argument is not as valid as it looks if anti' s feel wages have been less they need to ask DOL to increase prevailing wages to what they feel is right but then that will make all these innovations extremely expensive and companies will face budget constraints and feel less inclined to try new things. That will make US less competative globally.

A little unrelated question but couldn't find the the right thread to post it...
What do you do if while traveling abroad, your GC is lost/stolen? Would the CBP officer at the airport allow you back in on the basis of a photocopy?

do we need carry the supporting documentation(Birth/Marrriage certificate, old H1Bs, etc) certifacte while travelling with GC? Please share your experience.

I don't know if he is gonna mess it up if I file on my own. But Senthil has valid point that he should support if there is an RFE.
Its a very good point... might as well take the hit now BUT make sure you give him the finger and a few words when you throw your resignation letter on his face after getting your ead or if you want to wait till you get your gc!

Lou has branded an entire national communiy in his hate filled rhetoric. I appreciate that good people differ in their views on immigration, but this crosses the line. H1b is "cheap Indian labor" and "overstay their visas" ??
Lou believes in quoting no facts, just bullishly repeating such views. Nobody who disagrees can ever get a word in. I am a specialist physician with multiple degrees and board certifications. I practice in underserved communities, speak fluent English and pay my taxes. My visa status is and always has been legal. Do I meet the Lou standards? I am waiting in an endless line for a green card that keeps me at the bottom based on my country of birth. So much for Lou's cheap labor! Has everyone forgotten his tacit support for outsourcing in his "other professional life"?
Shame on CNN for allowing this. I, for one, have no further interest in this channel.

I did search this with given phrase.. All the search results I see are directed to university websites.. primarily referring to I-20 validity. May be since universities are a little particular about status issues, informing the rules in advance.
In my wifes case, the company policy is not include on the payroll until the first project starts and after that they pay even on the bench. And so far no one (primary) was denied GC from her company. We didn't realize the problems earlier.. she was willing to work earlier.. but since all the clients were asking for SS#, they asked her to wait till she gets one. She soon got accepted by a F500 client, but since the director was on vacation, the the project didn't start till early june 06.. I was a little worried, so though my lawyer didn't ask, she asked her employer for an employment letter. We may be able to request additional letters if USCIS issues reasonable RFE from company. Well.. there is no point in discussing my case further except for stress relief..:(.. what ever happens happens.

I came through SFO a few days ago. I was prepared to leave if told that I could not stay, (having lost my job last November and not having found another). I was asked if I was still working for the petitioner, I replied truthfully that I was not and that I was looking for another job. I was then told it was OK, and "welcome back".
I've got a code I biometric notice eventhough I did not apply for and EAD. What might this mean? Thanks to USCIS I lost a 2004 PD ...now its a 8/2006 PD.
In the meanwhile I have a Phd offer from a top UK university and am planning to take that opportunity, even though I have an admission to a Master's here with full scholarship.

You're right, the point I was making is the real intention of these Senators...When you want to scr.ew somebody you ask questions that are hard and mostly unanswerable....Take this example, Look at the requirement that Hyderabad Consulate has put up for H1B Visa Stamping, it sounds like they are saying don't you dare!!!

The other real American way would be to look at ways of undermining Grassley.
Case in point was Elliot Spitzer. Although what he was doing was right and justified; he took on some big players in Wall Street. Lots of fines; regulations, etc. Then all of a sudden he gets caught in a sting and he is ruined forever.

I filed I485 and my I140 got cleared. My employer is not willing to give my Approved I140. I am not sure why he is holding my I140. I dont have have any idea to change job at this time.

your company/employer cheated you. not anybody else... please rethink about it.
You dont need to knock anyones door - I'll proactively go to anyone who used a "Labor Subs" and call them a Cheat because they have cheated someone else's Property and Dream.
Its gone but i'm personally a victim of that - My 1st Labor was traded in the Market for certain US dollars... The legislation was not there - otherwise i did have sufficient Proof and resources to take care of that cheat company.

Student Visa comes to mind. I hope you don't cancel your marriage due to this fact. Good Luck. You might be able to start another GC process as well.
