hi, first, I'm not trolling. I have a genuine question and I'm looking for answers seriously. I got laid off in 2009 while on a h1b and then for one reason or another, stayed back for 8 months. My understanding was that I could have gotten a new job within 6 months and then switched over my h1b. I was foolish. My I-94 on the h1b approval letter however had an expiration date of October 2011. By the time 8 months had gone by, I decided it was time to give up hope and return to my country.
Since I've been here, my parents have started a campaign to get me a bride. Arranged marriages are part of my culture, and people marry based on how good a match it is according to one's birthchart. If I do find a USC who is willng too marry me, will it help me in any way immigration wise? Or will my 8 months out of status stay in USA chase me for the rest of my life?

Most probably today is History of legal immigration, tomorrow is family based immigration and Thursday they will talk about employment based immigration.
Keep an eye (or should I say an ear) out for Immigration Voice during the third part :)

Can I take up a managerial position even though I am an analyst on the LC/I-140 etc.....??????????
You cannot take a completely different responsibility job. I used AC21. The job has to have same responsiblities and designation can change. Salary can be little higher. I got 485 approved based on this AC21

Can we go to local USCIS office and get new I94.Does that resolve the issue.
No, CIS local offices don't do this. There is no mistake on the I-94, so the only way to change it is as described in the prior answer.

Even I changed my address last month. No RFE.
Now Again I want to chnage. I want to know If I just submit AR11 online, without updating the pending applications ( not expecing any communication for CIS next couple of months). Will they look in to AR11 and issue RFE(If at all).OR it is just a record no one care unless you chnage the pending applications.

Ah, the magical E-Verify solution. If we just required it for everything from getting a job to applying for any kind of government benefit and now qualifying for a mortgage, all would be right with America. In the mean time, innocent Americans are still getting caught in non-confirmation hell. Consulting company doing it for a cost? Sorry, I did not understand. Why do we need consulting company? What costs?
Any legitimate company should be able to port the PD from an approved I-140 as long as it is allowed.
The plan is to continue working for my current company. I want to use some consulting firm, to file my labor and the whole 9 yards using my current priority date. I dont want to join them. I dont think they will do it for free, if I dont plan on working for them?

Here is my story, your help & information will be appreciated...
1. I am currently working for Company A on L1B.
2. I applied for my H1B through company B while I was in US, which got approved and is valid from Oct 2007.
3. Now, my Company B which filed for my H1B had also applied for a Change of Status with the H1 & I have got my Change of Status notice along with the H1b approval. This means that my status will change to H1 from October and my L1B will not be valid.
Now, my problem is that I do not want to Join the New company until December.
However, can I still work with my company A on L1B even if after October.
Is there any Solution where we can reverse the change of Status?? and will i still be able to work on L1B after October even if my status is H1B. Will my L1B be valid or it will get cancelled???
No, you cannot reverse the change of status. The best thing to do is to join company B. From Oct 1st your status is H1. If you would have applied for fresh H1 then you cud have continued to work for company A.For this when ever you want to change to H1, you should leave the country and come back on company B visa.
I'm not sure what your problem is to join company B from Oct 1st.

Hello,
The cancellation of H1b takes 4-5 months and untill then nothing much to worry. You can join new company as soon as you file for H1b transfer.

My 140 filled on July 6th 2007 . No receipt yet . How to file 485 without 140 receipt ? Is there any solution for this ?

Not too shabby for your first attempts. You do need to use a smaller aperture, though. For example, on your shots of the mixing boards, guitar and railing (the one with all the circles), if you had used f/16 or f/22 instead of say f/5.6 you would have gotten a lot more "depth", ie: more stuff in focus, to the shots. This isn't to say that you always want everything in focus but sometimes you do.
Don't forget that the trick to using smaller apertures for maximum depth of field is to focus on the object (or point of an object) that is closest to the camera....everything else behind it will be in focus (even though it won't look that way when taking the shot.
