what is mandatory?.....what happens if a person has to move 6 months after they file I-485.....aint they going to change their address??.....can we use AR-11 to do that?....there is no way I can wait for 4 years at my current place to get my green card in hand.....would appreciate any suggestions

You can try filing for COS from H1-H4 through a lawyer while she is in US. Most of the times H4 will be approved.My wife got it.

I want to be more specific. I have a full time job. I'd like to setup a business LLC to get some contract works. For tax benefit, I can deduct some business cost with it.
On H1 you can setup business, invest in , take profits ,but you should not be on payroll ( in otherwords you cannot be an employee of your own company based on H1 status ).
Once you get your EAD ( IV's current indirect-primary objective ) , you can do work of your company and do those tax benifit tacktics .

We applied on July 2nd during July 2007 VB fiasco.
I just received the following email from CRIS regarding my son's AOS I-485 application:

Folks,
How are the taxi charges from Chennia airport to the town or station ? Do the drivers charge whatever they feel like or is it controlled?
My parents are leaving back from the US and will be landing in Chennai, they are not from Chennai....so not sure if I should try to book a taxi before hand...or the charges are controlled ? Also, do they have something like pre-paid taxi ?
The flight (emirates) lands at 3 or 4 am.
Also, any recomendations for Hotels ? Ideally near the railway station.

try agoda.com. I always book through them and cheaper than yatra and makemytrip. Sometimes agoda's price is higher than yatra so you have to compare. Just choose a hotel and then compare the price with these three websites. In the last 2 years I Booked hotels in chennai through agoda at least 6 times and everytime the price was atleast 500 to 1000 rs cheaper than other websites. I am talking about 3 and 4 stars.

Employer A revoked 140 which triggered 485 denials in October 2008.
Applied MTR and it was approved in NOVEMBER 2008 and 485 reopened.
Questions

Now Will I able to renew my H1B? Using pending 485 more than 365 days?If so will able to get 3 years renewal?
Will the past 140 revoke issue, trigger any RFE?

You or your wife's country of birth is important factor in whether you will save much time by being EB-2. If you are from China, your EB-2 priority date (PD) would be about 2.5 years ahead of the EB-3 date. However, since it could take 2 years to get a new PERM and I-140 approved, it wouldn't save much time. For India and other countries that are current, the difference might be worth it. Of course, your employer has to be willing to go through the work and expense of redoing PERM and the I-140, and must have an EB-2 position available for you.

alright fresh from this incident. my mother had 10 yr tourist visa expiring in 3 months after her travel date. in the old days it was recommended that you have at least 6 month visa validity when entering US for immigration purposes. Following that guideline she applied for a new tourist visa of course referring the current one on passport. While during her interview they didn't ask her any questions and told her that its a go. Her application got stuck in security verification which triggered due to the fact that she already had a valid visa. Upon researching further I found out you are safe to travel even a day before your visa is expiring because once you enter the country your stay is based on I-94 validity and not your visa. Hope this helps.

I was wondering the same thing. On other hand, I don't remember exactly where, read that as USCIS has updated their software, hence, FP's will not be required again. I may be wrong here, I myself, am interested to know if I need to follow up with USCIS after my jul-07 filing.

Thanks for replying. Were the I-140s EB2 or EB3? Coz i have seen a LOT of EB2s taking significantly more time than Eb3.
For eg. I filed for labour in Jan and it already got approved thru PERM coz it was EB3. a couple of my friends have filed in EB2 aand have waited significantly longer.
