until the economy improves, i am not too optimistic that something will happen in lame duck session if repubs win any of WVA, Illinois or Delaware senate seats, the terms of these senators expire immediately after election and repubs have more than fair shot at WVA and Illinois, i just want to pitch the little i know before making assumptions, please don't start posting -ve comments and post something that might help others on this topic,

When there is a merger, there are no issues. I am presuming that when there are spin offs, there are no issues. Since you are working for atleast one of the original partners, you may show that it is a spin-off or a smaller firm out of the bigger firm or something like that. I am no attorney.
Talk to a good one. If you are being offered atleast the wage that is described on your apps and your position has not changed, then maybe there are no issues.

Hi,
I am not sure this is the right thread to post my question. I recently moved to new address and as soon as I moved, I did change address using AR-11 online through USCIS website. And I did received the change address confirmation from USCIS. But in that confirmation, it's only mentioned about my wife's case status number and I didn't see any for mine.
And Aug 4, when i checked my case status online, it's said, "Document mailed to applicant". So just now I called to UCSIS customer service to find out my change of address has been updated in their system because I am afraid they might send that "document" to my old address. The CSR from USCIS told me on the phone that he cannot check my address(cos it's personal information) and the only thing I can find out is take infopass appointment. He also told me my case has been approved. I don't believe what he said was true cos I haven't done any FP yet. I did got EAD and AP approvals for both me and my wife since 2007, Sep.
So my questions are
1) Can my 485 case be approved without FP?
2) Is infopass the only way to find out my address change is updated in their system?
Any reply is highly appreciated.

Please do not listen to anyone telling you that you can not do such-and-such just because you have filed I-485 application. In general, most of the times it is company attorney filing your I-485 and just asking you to sign the document at the mark placed and some candidates do not even bother to take a copy of the forms that they will be signing. If you have already taken a copy of your I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (travel document/AP), please confirm the next. Most of the times, the attorney puts the business address of the law firm as the address where USCIS should mail-in the EAD card. For AP, you may find your address.
Now coming back to original question, you will have to fill form AR-11 and send it to USCIS. I am not sure if you have to send more than one copies of that to USCIS (one for your H1B and one for your AOS when you get the receipt number) so it will be on file with USCIS. By law, it is a must that you provide your proper address change info to USCIS.

...but could be due to unavailability of visa numbers for EB2-I in September. So even though the ported PD of Nov 2004 is current in September, the October visa bulletin has clarified that the EB2-I numbers were actually unavailable in September. See below:

Little if any forward movement of the cut-off dates in most Employment categories is likely until the extent of the CIS backlog of old priority dates can be determined. It is estimated that the FY-2009 Employment-based annual limit will be very close to the 140,000 minimum.

Although it might seem very appealing to put in multiple applications to increase the chance of obtaining a visa, one would actually be aggravating the situation than alleviating it. So the thought process should be how can one prevent the lottery situation from arising.. applying for a single visa on a requirement basis should suffice. That said it is unfortunate that the current situation and cap forces us to think of ways to resort to finding loop holes and take un-required actions. In an ideal world they should increase the cap. But whatever cap we have now, does not give us the right to jeopardize others chances of getting a visa. We should work this out together. Lets not clog the system.
Imagine hearing from somebody that they have a visa they never used when you don't have one, don't be that somebody.
I am currently on a dependent visa and have to go through the H-1 process. I have a masters and have every intention to stick to that quota and apply only one.

We all know that we are able to file 485 on July and we got EAD due to IV efforts. Which in turn helping us to get a 600$ rebate for the spouse (Some plan to spend the money).. Can we make a pledge here that we will contribute a certain % to our organization? The % can be your choice. At least this % can help this site up and running� If the moderator decide that this is not a good idea please close this thread.

My wife had gone to DMV in fair oaks mall and they had asked her to produce the original I485 and unfortunately we don't carry it. Our license is going to expire next month.
Anybody know what we can do in this situation. Has anybody got a licence recently from VA state.
