If you're 18 and living under your parent's roof then you are obliged to follow their rules. Ok so you're legally an adult at 18, then quit leaching from your parents, reaping the rewards of living in their house, enjoying their hospitality and get your own place. But as long as you continue to take advantage of the good will of your parents hospitality then you follow the rules of their home.

That's not the same Miranda Kerr who's father is Jim Kerr of Simple Minds is it? I read he had a daughter who was into acting or modeling or something, but never looked it up.

i just installed it and then i read this which scares me...

I've installed two or three versions of Sidetrack on my Powerbook now and have been using Sidetrack for about a year and have never had a singele problem. It's been such a staple that it's irritating when I use another laptop, much like Quicksilver - heck I even try to open Quicksilver using Quicksilver when I have to restart it! :p - so give it a go. I'm sorry to hear that another user had problems but it's been nothing less than perfect for me and the hot corners are great! :)

As someone who has to track down things like this constantly, I'm pretty unimpressed at the (lack of) speed of their code checking. This was not an obscure bug or complicated. It was just a too-large buffer definition and an execution path that always downloaded info.
And people think Apple can check binary app store submissions for bugs or trojans in just a few minutes, when they can't even find their own bugs in a few days with commented source code.
Again unimpressed. There've been accurate explanations posted here before Apple spoke up, that took just minutes to compose.
Although I've defended Apple over and over again on this topic, this just smacks of hoping it would blow over.
The right thing to do would've been to immediately say a week ago, "we're looking into it".

any help would be appreciated
I left my 3Gs attached to my mac through firewire and overnight the battery drained.
When I came back it wouldn't charge and now I have tried to charge it on 2 different macs with 2 different fire wires and both haven't recognized the Iphone.
When I hold down the power and menu buttons the apple logo pops up and for a brief second a picture of a fire wire comes up.
Do I have any options other than get professional help/new phone?

recently purchased a used 3g iphone....got it restored sort of...now it's stuck in a reboot loop.....the :apple: logo comes on the loading bar comes across the under the :apple: logo and it starts all over again.. have tried tiny umbrella and no go....and some one even tried a custom restore....should i cut the losses and give the phone the boot or is there still hope?..........i'm new at this so PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!:(

That "Plus" sign means you have more text in the text box, but the text box needs to be bigger to show it on the screen. Just pull the text box a little taller and the plus sign will go away. It is possible that you only have an extra couple of blank spaces in the box. (You may have hit return or the space bar and left them at the end of the text in the text box.)

Thanks, Huntn. Good post. Here are my thoughts on your ideas:
There is a long term move to dismantle government social programs and who needs the truth when we can lie? You know we can't afford you social program and your school because we have these billion, thats B-I-L-L-I-O-N dollar bombers that need building.
This is all very simplistic, but here goes:
1. Reform Health care- one illness from bankruptcy is not acceptable for a developed country. Health care should have never been turned into a profit machine along the same lines that you don't want your police and firemen as for-profit enterprises. The larger the pool the smaller the costs.

Providing health services and goods has always been a for-profit enterprise. This is exactly what has lead to the amazing growth in medical technology in the past 100 years.
2. Cut programs before lowering taxes especially on the rich- you can't balance a budget if you have no income. If you must lower taxes, you must first cut the programs and deal with the popular unrest before cutting any taxes. This is exactly what the champion of the Republican Party did not do- Reagan, he cut taxes but not programs and this country ran the first substantial deficits since WWII.
I tend to agree. Cut programs until our expenses match our current 'revenues.' When the two are equal or are in the black, let's immediately pass an balanged-budget amendment so this problem never happens again.
3. Progressive Tax policies are a must- The rich are rich. Make them pay their fair share. They can afford it. Cutting their taxes to create jobs is mostly a conservative smoke screen to **** over average citizens.
For the record, they are paying their fair share. The top 50% of wage earners pay over 95% of the income tax. Your disgusting attack on all conservatives wanting to '****' over all citizens is just that... disgusting.
4. Stop allowing the Exportation of Jobs- If you want to keep a standard of living. Lowering the standard of living reduces income and tax revenues.
How? Trade embargo's? Certainly you understand that increasing taxation on the wealthy and corporations certainly won't help.
5. Enact policies that support a strong Middle Class- instead of wiping it out for the sake of the rich. A strong middle class powers the economy.
Lower taxes? Strong business climate with low unemployment? You seem to be contradicting yourself... what strong middle class policies are you specifically talking about?
6. Search High and Low for Corruption- No system will work if it's corrupt. Submitting thousands of fradulent Medicare claims is hurting us.
I agree. I would start with a MASSIVE simplification of the tax code, and virtual elimination of all government subsidies over the next 5-10 years.

I tend to agree. Reduce the budget by half, let them become more efficient and more reliant on technology. Take a more defensive posture around the globe and avoid entangling alliances, etc. abroad. That being said, I believe its important for us to maintain a strong national DEFENSE. We do have enemies... and defense is one of the primary constitutional roles of the federal government.
