I wondered the same thing. JetBlue seems like an innovator, and if anyone is going to actually hit this launch date, it would be them.

No it won't convert the PC fanboys or the increasingly popular 'I can be offended quicker than you can' crowd but I really doubt those are the target audience. The ads are humorous and hit exactly the kind of audience from which 'switchers' come from - those dissatisfied with their PC experience.
Apple isn't trying to take over the entire computer market - way too many people you wouldn't want as customers in that crowd. Just getting the kind that do find the commercials humorous and 'on the mark' with the added controversy the commercials themselves spawn is probably more than enough. Look at this thread - if I'd were leaning towards Macs and ran into the PC sourpusses here I'd get one just to provoke them further. Humorless people need to be taunted and provoked at every opportunity - they will either grow or explode, both steps up.

This is true only if the transplant was because of alcohol related reasons (IE, alcoholism) There are any number of other reasons why one could have a liver transplant, and in those cases, those people can have a drink like anyone else.
Thats not to say there isn't other medical reasons that Jobs isn't drinking. And if there is, it is unlikely to be related to the transplant.
Or.. Maybe he just didn't want to drink!?

I think the iPhone 4's screen is too small and has not increased in size physically since the original iphone launch almost 4 years ago. It's time for a screen size increase, either equivalent to or slightly smaller than HTC's 4.3" behemoth. Apple should go S-Amoled with IPS or OLED which requires no backlight and therefore extends battery life.

I hear all this talk about an iPhone coming soon, which is great, but what carrier will Apple use?
It looks like they are going to use Cingular or maybe T-Mobile. I really doubt Apple using Sprint, Verizon or ONLY wifi. Wifi would be pointless because it would be very limited to certain areas only. I think their phones will be GSM, and all us customers who use cdma will be left out in the cold.
There are a lot more restrictions on a cdma phone than on a GSM phone. This really sucks because Verizon is the only company that works where I live...

I wonder what the IO performance of the reader is and what a 64GB drive might manage.
Something I'd like to see is a rackmount SDXC RAID array. Think how many sd slots would fit in a 1U array. I know, probably won't happen, but still interesting to see.

It probably depends on the specifics of the network you want to build, but overall, I always found it ridiculously easy to build a Mac OS network than a Windows one.

So, earlier in the week I had an issue with my iPhone and it wasn't working. While my phone was out of commission, I was watching G4 TV and X-Play was on and they had a review of games on the iPhone. The game I saw was an RPG mixed with a Bejeweled game. You would be fighting a creature and in order to gain armor, health, and attacks you have to match items like Bejeweled. Swords, Hearts, Potions, things of that nature. I never wrote the name of the game down and I've clearly forgotten the name. Even googling G4 isnt helping at the moment so I figured I would come here and ask:
Does anyone know the name of this game from how I described it? Its driving me crazy ;)

I wonder why the 2 plans have to be mutually exclusive. Why not download the whole database when you get it, for when you might not get coverage. And then automatically update when you do have coverage. When going somewhere, give priority updating to the current route and then download everything else. Maybe allow current route to be updated with EDGE/3G while whole database updates require Wi-Fi. Just my 2�

They really need to completely reevaluate their criteria and make it CRYSTAL EFFING CLEAR what IS and was IS NOT acceptable and then stand by it. None of this 'reject Google Voice because it duplicates functionality' and then 'approve the Opera web browser'. Reject an APP because it 'ridicules public figures' and then plead that the author to resubmit it once he's awarded a Pulitzer...

Although it looks pretty nice, it is a half-assed approach to improvement.
- No spam management
- No full feature set (missing bounce, etc.)
- No full data set for the Address Book (still can't note bdays, etc.)
- No iCal integration with a fully editable calendar
Seriously would these things be too hard to do? Google does them so why doesn't Apple?

I support veterans and families, they risk their lives and the government screws them over, but I cannot condone the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
Did you vote for Barack Obama? He supports the violence in Afghanistan, he even increased it.
But back on topic. I think it's smart for the military to review the kit they are deploying down to the soldiers on the ground. They should be doing that far more often than they do. But you can't read too much into it. The Army especially requires a lot of kit of the type that Apple currently doesn't sell (PCs in the category of the Panasonic Toughbooks for example).
