aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh I want to buy this!!!! But alas I cannot afford it at present, well it depends on if I get a 3DS next weekend or not. But having used the demo of Outlook I love it, much better then Mail IMO.
If anyone knows of a cheaper price then around �160 in the UK let me know cause that's the best I've found.

Word at best buy Stonebriar was sellout. BUT, they were letting people that would sign up for a credit card skip ahead in the line. This from a guy that was line with me at stonebriar mall while his wife ran over there after apple ran out of 3G models.

The sample I see here shows a way to make a phone's games or videos interact with toys.
Another example I've read (subway farecard) would tell people that I'm subway rider 25879346 or something. I've also read about using it as a credit card, which would require a PIN number to use. Anyone can currently snap a photo of you handing a card to a cashier, so it's no different from that.
None of these are shouting out anything about who I am. If you're critisizing something else, you'll have to actually tell me what you're talking about since it hasn't been mentioned here yet.

Umm do not use retail cost of the OS. You need to use the OEM cost. That is 100 bucks.

The bottom line is that the Christmas number one is a popularity contest. It is meant to be what record is the most popular at that time of year. Does nobody realise that you have to support the exFAT format (from Microsoft, currently NOT supported on OS X, and has to be licensed by Microsoft) to be able to use more than 32 GB?

Still no push, it can't be that hard can it? The small devs get push working on their apps no problem..
Most of the small devs charge us for push notification... Im pretty sure 7iphones out of 10 have facebook installed... Can you imagine pushing notification on all these devices? Plus its free so i can imagine how the server can easely be overloaded

Another question is 'What do people think to it compared to using AppleWorks?'

In terms of Word proccessing I mean, not all the other things like Spreadsheet, Database etc
After all that is what Pages (and Keynote) are suppose to be doing, they are replacements

But back to Office. I still prefer the Windows version however the Mac version is starting to grow on me. Were it not for MS CRM that I use at work, I could finally be rid of Windows once and for all. But, alas, no dice. Love how CRM works ONLY with IE.
I agree the windows version is way better. But it's not worth running Parallels all the time to get it. The Mac version is good enough. (At work I do run Parallels all the time for other reasons, though, and I therefore I almost exclusively use the Windows version of Office.)

I third that...Intel integrated 'thing' will never be in a product I buy (If it's the only GPU in mac and nothing else is there like with MacBook Pro where you can switch between graphics 'device'). :)

+1 on spotty push... gonna give it a few days and see if it improves. What I am looking for is similar behavior to the mail app... I do not want alerts to pop up, just sounds and a badge. This is not working at all for me. I have yet to see the badge update itself. Alerts were working for me, but quite annoying (because as we all know the "ambient noise" level on Facebook is very high).
Is there a place to report these bugs to the developer?
Edit: I am also seeing the problem with updates remaining available after being installed, as well as sporadic issues with the Push notifications system on other apps. 3 billion downloads might be taking their toll on Apple's cloud... hopefully the new server farm goes online soon...

What I am getting at by this post, is why are Mac people so biggoted against the PC. Another guy made a post somewhere else about how maybe one in fifteen PC users is anti Mac, but more like one in two Mac users is anti PC.
1/15 PC Users X 95% Market Share = 6.3% of total market.
1/2 Mac Users X 5% Market Share = 2.5% of total market.
If your assumption of this is right, then...
Conclusion: There are more bigotted PC Users than there are bigotted Mac Users. :D

Are you people seriously applauding this? What a waste of our tax dollars!! I do contracts with the Navy every single day and I know that the technology that they have will not be benefited by the use of iPad/iPod/iPhone. The military does not offer wi-fi to their staff on base. Everything is hard wired and the conduit is sealed with a tamper proof silicon. The Government is very very particular about their SIPRnet (as they call it). Without wi-fi, what use is the iPad for the military other than to give them a little treat and waste our tax dollars? They already have mobile equipment in the vehicles that is far superior to Apple's products.
In the 1980's my company won a $1 million contract to deliver networked 3D color graphic computers (100 computers on 10 LANs). The computers were used for war games and training at the Army College of Command and Control at Ft. Leavenworth, KS*... across the wide Missouri...
* Home of the famous Junior, Junior High School (officially, General George S. Patton, Jr. Junior High School) :D
This was before color Macs were available, so we used a 68000-based computer from another mfg..
These were used in officer training.
The computers and networks had no special security or "hardening" for the military... quite the opposite, the equipment was required to be available "off-the-shelf".
All of the stuff we struggled to do on computers costing $10,000 each (roughly $50,000 each in todays dollars), is easily within the capability of a $500 WiFi only iPad (Except the ability to run CoBOL programs).
The point is that if the Military can save taxpayer dollars, while improving their capabilities, without sacrificing security... they'd be remiss in their duty to this country.
