So Counsumerreports publishes that they can't recommend the iPhone 4 due to antenna. Then they later realized that they were dumb asses and the iPhone antenna issue is a non-issue. Now they can't just change their mind, that would make them look like an idiot, so they stayed stubborn saying the iPhone 4 had an antenna issue, because they were too stubborn to admit they were wrong.
Now the iPad is out they are trying to prove to the media that they are not being biased against apple.
However, the iPad 2 is the best tablet. That is just a no-brained

Just saw this thread, so I figured I'd share some knowledge (been gaming for 8 years).
So the reason why people are avoiding these things like the plague is because they STINK. The Intel chipsets ARE more powerful than the NVIDIA 320M, BUT, that doesn't always equal better performance.
Game developers usually design games on nvidia chipsets (Hence, "Nvidia: The way it's meant to be played) slogan.
Although the 3000HD shows better specs, it's been proven to perform worse in game. The reason being that the drivers are total rubbish. Until they can improve the drivers, it's a downgrade. But then again.............who in their right mind would try and game with a laptop!? ;)

I have always gamed on laptops - M17x, M11x, MBP, VAIO Z... list goes on and on. Add the Air to that list now. The 320M is a very capable chip and it can play many modern games at medium settings smoothly.
The way you describe laptop chipsets makes you sound like you've only ever tried laptop gaming with a GMA500 :p

For smaller American trucks, I see them everywhere, whether it's a landscaper/gardener, construction worker/contractor, auto parts vehicle, city vehicles, fire captain, emergency vehicle, plumber, or a whole host of telecomm/techie workers.
I think there will always be a considerable market for small to medium sized American trucks and maybe the US auto companies should focus mostly on those markets of small to mid-sized trucks (but not larger Isuzu, Mercedes, and Volvo delivery trucks) and also not try and take Honda, Lexus, Toyota, BMW, Nissan, Hyundai, Volvo, and Mercedes head on in sedans.
While I agree the U.S. makers have a large share of the domestic market for pickups etc in the long term they are up against it the Japanese,Australian and to a smaller extent South African manufacturers turn out a much better quality product.I would think the only way for the U.S. manufacturers to survive is by partnering the leading overseas producers and use their technology.

Word at best buy Stonebriar was sellout. BUT, they were letting people that would sign up for a credit card skip ahead in the line. This from a guy that was line with me at stonebriar mall while his wife ran over there after apple ran out of 3G models.

So the fact that AT&T can currently know everything about you from miles away is ok, but if they add a chip that works for 30 or 40 feet...that's a problem?

its a high price to pay, but having a mac.com email address can be cool, and it has made people remember my email address a lot more easily, it stands out a bit more than the usual hotmail, yahoo, gmail suffixes. That's one thing, the other is i've found my .mac membership worth it, going to try Transmit, because i have found iDisk too slow, but if it works then it will be amazing. Evenstill i've had good use for my iDisk. Doing quick album pages is cool too, and very useful.
as people have said there's nothing .mac offers that any tech-minded person could set up for free, but i'm relatively tech minded, but it just means one less thing to worry about, and less time spent on mindless operations.

Let me preface this by saying that I am, in fact, a moron.
I have a macbook pro and I just partitioned my hard drive to install windows 7. It was all going good and I had my copy of the disc in there running but when it restarted i got an error message. (here it comes)
I got an error saying "bootmgr is missing, press any key to restart" but the keyboard no longer seems to work. I restared multiple times but it didnt help. I held down the C key and control alt delete, nothing. I even tried a usb keyboard and nothing. The computer won't start up, I just get that message. Anyone know what's going on? I need help please:confused:

Man com on Apple! Really! I RUN MY LIFE BY MY IPHONE ALARM CLOCK! I NEVER planed on a back up BEFORE my iPhone when daylight savings time happened why should I NOW? Get this right or I'm leaving for the other phone that has never had this, oh wait, yes they did. Assuming you were saying keeping the same retina dpi from the ip4 but with a 3G[S] resolution, that would make the screen the size of 1/4 of the screen we have now.

My Macpro is shipping tomorrow, I wonder if they will do the update since it's still technically in their hands.
Speaking of which, the build times are much faster! I ordered my Macpro with X1900, 2 gigs of ram, Bluetooth/Airport and 160 drive last Saturday. They placed a hold on my order until Tuesday while verifying my educational status, then sent me a notice the next day (Wednesday) telling me that my order is being processed. My Macpro is scheduled to ship tomorrow and my new 23" ACD is on the truck for delivery today. If everything goes well, I might have a new system for the weekend. That's pretty damn fast for a BTO!

I have zero reason to downgrade to Sandy Bridge with its forced worthless IGP & chipset.
I do believe the backlit keyboard will make it back IF Apple continues to sell a MacBook. If Apple eliminates the MB and puts the low end MBA in its place at $999, then I suspect the backlit keyboard stays a thing of the past. If however Apple keeps the MB, I think it will conclude that at least the 13" MBA needs the upgraded feature. It is extremely low cost. I would be shocked if it costs $0.50 per MBA unit, and it seems like a big advantage. I think Apple likes to "experiment" with features so it can then add them back and act like they learned their lesson when actually they just want added sales.

I just think the vast majority of MBA buyers a, don't care, and b, would be better off with C2D and Nvidia 320m for another year.

Awesome, I love it! I want to sign up for .Mac so bad, but I can't justify it being worth $99 per year. I would gladly pay $49 per year, especially since I would use iWeb, Photocasting, and all the other good stuff.
just buy it off ebay. I bought mine for maybe $60 including shipping but I was impatient; if you hunt around long enough, you can get it for even less!

most of us are saying that the outside is great but the entire inside needs to be redisigned anyway for the hot under the paste merom and the new chip set for santarosa, duo2 is a different board too i think. my point is this, because intel promised cool chips apple discarded some thermal buffer when they madi mbp less than 1 inch, now their faced with a redesign for a processor that will be 0utdated in 3 months or the will spend thwe time to give us a place holder that wont cook our sausage.
