Getting the application doesn't let you play. The game is online, and you have to log into SC II with a battle.net account that has a StarCraft 2 Beta Key registered with it.
Yeah that's what i figured. So i went to Best Buy because I had placed my pre-order there a while back but never got a code. The girl at customer service had no clue what I was talking about. They said they will have the guy from Video Games call me tomorrow....

I'm picking up a g4 mini in the next couple of days that has been completely wiped clean.
I don't have any sort of monitor at home and was looking at hooking it up to my Panasonic plasma to set it up from scratch using a DVI - HDMI cable.
Will I actually be able to see anythiing without having an OS already installed or is it going to be a pointless exercise?
Should be fine, the plasma should behave just like any normal monitor. Although I use the VGA input of my Panny plasma to avoid HDMI handshake issues so that is always an option.

Well, I can get 22% off a Verizon plan, that sort of thing might matter. Although, I don't want a 3G iPad, so....no matter to me.
* Also, crap DNS speed really throws many people for surfing, anyway. The internet's dirty little secret. I wonder how many millions don't realize they could be faster by typing a couple digits into setup.
Jat.... didn't know this. Made the change and not sure about speed, but it fixed another issue I had where one of my business partner web sites was getting blocked. Thanks for the tip!

If the chip operates at a relatively high temperature a differential shouldn't be hard to reach. For example, with the cell operating at 600 degrees there is not much of a differential change between room temperature and plus/minus 10 degrees.
The article hinted at efficiency between twenty to thirty percent. Wow. This would be a huge leap above thermocouple efficiency, such as in radioisotope thermoelectric generators (RTG's), which supposedly are only three to seven percent efficient.
The applications for this are huge and heat sources are readily available. I, for one, would prefer an alcohol powered cell over a RTG in my computer any day. That whole radiation poisoning thing could ruin my bowling average.

Computers and phones isn't the same thing. I could see them doing it with the iPad since its a computer but I honestly can't see them doing it with the iPhone. Might they change the size of the screen for the next iPhone? Yes. Will they sell two models with different screen sizes? No.
I think that apple's past success in expanding their ranges, specifically with iPods, has been their ability to market different models slightly differently. Look at the ipod mini, essentially the same as the original iPod, only smaller, but marketed as a cool new apple product in different colours that is more affordable. I don't see any reason why this strategy cannot be applied to phones. They wouldn't really have to do very much at all for this to work apart from make a good quality product. New apple product = hype = sales. I think that this is more true now than it ever has been.

Following on from this story, apparently FoxConn will be supplying Apple with 15.4" MacBooks/MacBook Pros in May 2007.

I think this is the first year that everything in my house is all automatically adjusted. Except the kids who didn't get the memo. Instead of waking an hour later they got up 1.5 hours early.

Right now in NYC you can walk in the Apple store anytime and get the Verizon iPad. ATT models are extremely hard to find.
So how is it that Verizon is preferred???... (I know why but I'll let you guess...:))

The survey is flawed if it's estimating US sales by polling only US buyers.
The survey is not a good indicator of initial US sales. Since the AT&T models are being snatched up and shipped overseas. The survey is asking US purchases which version they prefer. However, US citizens are not the only ones buying iPad 2 from Apple in the US. If the survey is accurate then over time (i.e.: as international iPad 2 availability increases) then the Verizon model should catch up to AT&T in the US and possibly pass it in sales.
I still prefer the nation's fastest network (AT&T) over the most reliable (VZW) any day. Not to mention my GSM 32GB iPad 1 can be used internationally as well. Besides, in my neck of the woods, AT&T service has been very reliable for data consumption. No complaints here.
I owned the AT&T iPad 1 and I am somebody who only buys the data plan when I am traveling for vacation or for work. In my home town, AT&T is awesome -- they have great coverage. However, last year when traveling I found that AT&T coverage was not so good. In Idaho and Utah I had terrible coverage, in New York City I had "four bars" but it was still dog slow (this is before their NYC upgrades), and in Southern California it was hit or miss. So I bought the Verizon iPad 2 64GB with the intention of sticking with AT&T for my next iPhone. That way if I get somewhere and my phone shows great AT&T coverage then I can go with the WiFi hotspot option. However, if the AT&T coverage is lacking at my destination then I can activate the Verizon plan on the iPad 2. Should give me the best of both worlds. Here's hoping AT&T gets their LTE network up and running sooner rather than later though.

I remember reading on Best Buy Canada's website that if you pre-order the game you get access to the Beta... I wonder if that goes for Mac too or just PC. But yeah, I can't wait to see how well it will end up running on the 13" MBP with the "killer graphics"!

Same thought. Why cant people just (I know this sounds crazy) listen to CR when they make factually based reviews (i.e., iPhone 4 antenna design CAN lead to dropped calls). I hate this blind bias some folks have on here.

It all depends on what you eat, a vegeratian could eat only fried chips so it would not be healty :-) I'm vegarian and i'm awesome too and sadly i don't get sick even if i want :-( I have many friends who are vegetarian and they are not necessary slim, one of them has some Kg extra.
Last studies finally, after many years of ignorance, state vegans/vegetarians are OFTEN healty. Stop the nosense.

You're pretty close to nailing it there - in truth, they're still sheep and zealots, terms that imply a lack of ability to think for oneself and an over-the-top reaction when someone else makes up, or changes, their mind for them. It's the same morons, they just rush to extremes no matter what.

And even having read that letter, I'm still opposed to Apple's moves and intentions here. They're still trying to trademark the word "Pod", which I think is utterly farcical.
Never mind the delicious irony in Apple objecting to the phonetic similarity between iPod and MyPodder, when iPod was obviously chosen to leverage the phonetic similarity with a familiar word ("tripod") - could MyPodder not argue they were doing likewise? Never mind the fact that the Apple name was 'borrowed' from another company, and was the name of one of its products ("Classic") was taken verbatim from another company.
