USCIS Conference call on recent Employer-Employee Memo.
I am still listening to the conference call as I write this. So far, the CIS has really taken it on the chin by all but one speaker. The comments have ranged from mild criticism to demands that the memo be withdrawn. I was able to get in and ask whether anyone had actually read the legal authorities they cited? They very carefully avoided answering.

The Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill introduced in the House of Representatives would revamp the existing employment-based (EB) preference system in a number of important ways: 1) Increase in EB Numbers - The number of employment-based green cards would increase from 140,000 per year to 290,000. 2) Recapture � Currently, 140,000 persons are permitted to immigrate to the U.S. each year under the EB preference system. The proposals are good but amnesty portion is politically impossible.
The "all of nothing" CIR models will remain difficult. Let see if piecemeal comes in
end 2010 (after election) or 2011.

Maybe if it were wolf tracks or bears or something dangerous.

it took 45 days for the cheques to be encashed for the EAD application when I sent it to the Lockbox facility. I beleive they receive the mails in one location and forward it to the appropriate center.

Is it true that labor approval has a six months expiration date on it after which it'll expire. My lawyer has communicated this to me.

Hi All,
Currently iam working for a X company and i do have 2 layers(A,B) to my end client Y. My company got agreement with company A and A got agreement with B. Now, my client (Y)wants me on full time.I have signed non-compete with my employer that i will not join his clients.But Y is no way a client to my employer. Will there be any issue if i join with Y?
Any replies is highly appreciated.

Thank you for the reply. There was another thread that touched on this and it sounded like they were able to replace the button battery. It's not something that I would feel comfortable doing tho'!
