Around Melbourne and Scienceworks

The weather here is quite cold and windy but the sun is hot, even scorching! Despite the number of stubborn flies that stick on to you non-stop, I still think Point Cook the place I'm staying at right now is a lovely place!

Behind the house is a river that goes round the neighbourhood. There's also a town about less than a 5 minute walk from here.

The are ducks, swans, little birds and all kinds of little critters you can find there (including the flies).

There's even a beach about 10 minutes drive from the house and its absolutely beautiful!

The next day, Aunt Catherine took my brother and I to this place called Scienceworks. Its something like the 'Petrosains' in the Petronas Twin Towers. The entrance fee is pretty good as it only costs $8 for adults while children and students are for free! They consider 16 and above as adults, thus, I got in for free as I'm only 15.

There were all kinds of weird but interesting displays with an interesting fact!

Did you know....

There's even this massive bed with a massive teddy bear mumbling out some random facts about the cycle of sleep.

Scienceworks has hosted many school fieldtrips including my cousin's school. That day, there were at least 3 different schools that came by so the place was quite filled up! Most of them were from primary schools, but there was also a group from high school as well! (there were a lot of cute guys over there, hee hee!)

At the other end of the place was the sports section where they teach us all about the different types of sports and the many famous athletes. There was even a place where we could find out more about our health and stuff which is pretty cool!

There are interactive games such as racing with Cathy Freeman, a famous track runner who could run a distance of.... ermm...... well a really long distance within 2 seconds flat!

We had such a great time there! Unfortunately though, we didn't get to see any of the shows like the lightning show or the planetarium show as we had to return home for lunch but I'm quite satisfied anyway!

Here's the ancestors of my camera!

Greetings From Melbourne

I arrived with my brother at Melbourne, Australia about two days ago and its pretty awesome! Just to let you know, its my first time flying without an adult to accompany me overseas so, its pretty scary and exciting at the same time.

My Aunt Catherine hosted my brother and I to stay with her so its quite convenient for us, thus, we are able to spent a longer time here ( I'll be here for about 10 days). During the journey to Australia, its was quite uncomfortable being still in the same small seat. What's more, I couldn't sleep either because the lights were on and there was a baby in front of me that was screaming and shouting the whole night through. To top it all off, I had to endure it for 8 hours!

When we arrived at the airport, the weather was about 18 degrees celcius and it was quite a windy day. I enjoyed the crisp, cool air while the the sun was hot at the same time (its summetime, you see).

My aunt Catherine and her family had recently moved into a new house early this year. Its a rather large house with 4 bedrooms including the master bedroom, 4 bathrooms, a guest room, a guest dining room, one laundry room, a pantry including the living room, a porch, a garage and a big garden at the back of the house (which is still bare by the way).

This is the Loh family (including my brother Daniel and I).

I'll post out my adventure in Australia soon, so just be patient!

The Great Mascot Party

Terribly sorry for not updating my blog for quite sometime. Recently, I went to Genting Highlands with my family because we've been invited to attend Genting's 3rd anniversary mascot party. For your information, my parents are the owners of the company 'Livetoys' where they make mascotts and costumes. Livetoys is the company that provides the mascotts and costumes for Genting.

When we' ve reached the outdoor theme park, the place was decorated with christmas decorations. It looked great!

What's more, the weather that day was perfect; not too hot, not too cold. It was bright and sunny unlike my previous visit where it was raining, cold and miserable. The mascott parade was to be at 2 in the afternoon. So, my brother and I went for a few rides first. The ride I wanted to go first of all was the go kart. I've never tried that ride before and so I made sure that I'm going to experience the joy of driving. Nothing's gonna stop me now.

I waited for more than an hour because just as it was almost my turn, the staff had to take the go kart for maintainence. Oh bother! Nevertheless, I'm not leaving; I've waited too long for this.

At last, it was my turn!

I enjoyed the cool air blowing against my face and I felt like a racer!

My brother and I then had luch at MaryBrown in the theme park and continued our rides starting with the swings.

People screamed with joy and excitement as we were swung round and round.

When we came across the stage, there was the mascotts, all dressed up formally (created by my parents of course).

And finally, the Corkscrew!

Guess who I met on the way?
