The ad is just comparing 3G to 3G, so 1x/EDGE doesn't count.
There are 2 gaping holes in this commercial. Looking at the map I'm positive Verizon is counting 1xRTT in their footprint, just like they have stopped giving a breakdown on their coverage map by calling all data access "Broadband". They are also using some weird algorithm for their map as looking at even basic phone coverage 50% or more of upstate NY should be white. Not because Verizon's got a bad network, but because it's wilderness and farm country.

So how much did you nab it for with the misprint if you don't mind telling? I wish that happened to me. I've been looking a for a good m4/3 for a while, but they are all so expensive that I might as get a dslr.

If it's just Disney, then there's not much point. The reason iTMS succeeded from the start was that it was simple and it had the largest library from which you could purchase single songs. If the iTunes Movie store starts with just Disney movies, then it's dead in the water. Let's just hope that ThinkSecret is wrong again, as usual.

The main problem with the "slider" idea is that it wasn't intuitive which selection was active (since we're so used to a depressed icon indicating selection). I like the concept of a slider; it reminds me of the old tile games. Perhaps a compromise would have been to have the selected item's text glow, as if a little LED were behind it. That would have made it really clear which item was active.

Uh...wow. I don't know where you went to school, but we were indeed taught about the struggles of all those people. Why should gay people be left out? This is not a special class being taught. It's just including the things gay people went through to gain equal rights in a history class that talks about all those other groups as well.

There is no way to teach the persecution of all peoples throughout the history of our planet with the way the school system is today. So where should the line be drawn? You never answered the question. Do gays deserve more attention than say slavery or the holocaust? It appears to me that you feel that a select few individuals, that may have been gay, deserve more attention than the plight of entire civilizations or race of people?
And this is not ignorance. Pointing out the sexuality of a person that made a contribution to society is irrelevant. Completely and utterly irrelevant! Do people remember Einstein for being a Jew or as the father of modern physics? You would prefer he was remembered as a Jew first?

This really sucks. :( I just bought a new house and am going to almost immediately get it wired up for an alarm, though I probably don't need to. I don't understand why the register even opened if the transaction was not complete. If the kid rang up the Ipad at $499 the plus the applicable state tax, you gave him the cash on hand, the register still should have required the balance from the credit card? The register in the my opinion should not have even opened up? Much less print a receipt saying the full price was paid?
The only way I can this happening is if the kid keyed in the exact amount of the purchase price as cash.
It sounds like that's exactly what happened. the cashier thought the OP handed him exact change & just keyed in the full amount as cash.
The cashier certainly bears some of the blame for the error, but the OP was fully aware of the error from the start and did nothing to correct it.

Perhaps but they are not competing right now on either products or road maps.
You don't change vendor like the wind blows. Apple has a history of using many makers of parts. Face it dual core athlons are more chip then most folks need. Ati would only have to say hey look at this combo for X dollars. Ati & Apple go way back.

I have to laugh at the people worried that one day Apple will cut off software access in OS X. Apple said they won't do that. That would be bad for business. It makes no sense.

e.g. PowerPC support in SL, FW support is waning. Apple does not make, or support, things for the "long tail"
The main things I need from Lion are:
TRIM support for 3rd party (my SSD is definately slowing down)

After all of the comments about how great Aperture ran, and considering how crappy it was running on mine, I decided to take into the Apple Store.
The video card is defective and they are replacing it. No wonder my experience with the program stunk.

I can see how this update will have "battery life improvements" now that the phone is not going to be tracking our movements 24/7 even when all location services are shut off.
