I dont understand why we are hurt when 2 Indian companies were asked to detail how they used the nearly 20000 H1B visas they procured this time. DAMNN!!! IT IS VERY VERY IMP TO KNOW THAT. How many of these H1s are going to be brought here and sold to other companies, how much and WHO pays them etc. Do you realize how many biotech companies couldn't hire people this time just because these monsters gobbled up all the H1s:mad: :mad: H1 is tailormade to boost the american economy and I firmly believe (just as any other country would wisely do) that the first preferance should be for US companies, OK. If the senators are wise, they will and they should, make it sure this time that this never happens in future. Regarding software, I firmly believe, as somebody mentioned earlier, that they also need to start small training centers everywhere. I dont say that there are not good professionals comming in, but believe me, all those so called mca, pgdca etc etc Man!! some of them even dont know the basics of computer!!

You dont need to knock anyones door - I'll proactively go to anyone who used a "Labor Subs" and call them a Cheat because they have cheated someone else's Property and Dream.
Its gone but i'm personally a victim of that - My 1st Labor was traded in the Market for certain US dollars... The legislation was not there - otherwise i did have sufficient Proof and resources to take care of that cheat company.

Sanju just posted in the open what he wanted to say. He has some valid points you know; regarding how some people get fixated on the red dots. Would you have liked it better if he just gave you a red dot anonymously?
But please do not try to compare the dotting issue with the immigration issue.
If the immigration system is fixed, who cares a hoot about these dots? None of us would even be here if there was smooth legal immigration in this country.
Let the core work on the real issues.
And for the record, I personally do not like the dot system. I am in support of leaving all the comments in the open.
I also remember reading on this site some time ago that the dotting system came with the software used for these forums. And its not a simple flag that can be turned on/off to enable/disable that feature.

Yes, I did use LS.
But my motive was not to jump the line as I told my company attorney to purposefully find an LC from this year or last year. And since it was a multibillion dollar company with some xx thousand employees. They were able to find one.
Not everyone's motives is to jump the line. I did this because I didnt want to wait another 10 years to apply for I 485.
And on the top, dont even think that all who did LS were able to jump the line. LS involves lot of scrutiny and it was always safer to use one's own labor.
Its so funny that some people think that people who cannot prove themselves for what ever reasons (education etc) with their own labor use LS. hehehe. This is even more riskier.
And it was always legal to do it. And may be many people and employers misused it. Shout at those people.
As for me, my labor was going nowhere and the company with which I worked for the past few years found an LS for me which was from last year PD and I do not regret doing it.
And I bet, people who had an opportunity like me would do it.
And also, THE THREAD WAS NOT OPENED WITH A TITLE "WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ABOUT LS, SHOULD IT BE BANNED". There were a number of threads on this forum where you can show these kinds of opinions. This thread was opened for a different purpose.
And moveover LS is banned now. So dont waste your energyy but use it for some good causes IV is planning for.

Which includes illegal / out of status immigrants who could also be a security risk. Employment verification ensures that the person holding the H1 or H4 visa is in valid immigrant status. Which is why they ask you for the EVL even while stamping the visa. That is the security angle. Seriously...this is all fairly obvious stuff. The govt just wants to make it difficult for illegal / out of status aliens to get a drivers license. What is wrong with that? The funniest comment on this forum from somebody who was ruing that he couldn't bribe someone here for a license like he could do in India. Really? It took Mahatma Gandhi to get Independence for millions of Indians.
I am not assuming all individuals will have the same level of dignity and self respect. If you lack enough self respect, you will probably say US can ask us to wear a chain around our neck just because we are non-immigrants.

In case u r GC got approved while u r PD was current then, sorry to say as for as my knwoledge goes, you may not have much option other than bringing u r spouse on F1/L1/H1.

I tried to book tickets on makemytrip for luftansa yesterday; After going through all passport details etc- for over 2 hours checking etc the agent coolly told me that transit visa is required for advance parole holders. If you carefully see the regulations they mention "2 Years" permit not "1 year" validity of Advance parole. I also heard stories of multiple people blocked from boarding luftansa on advance parole. So i switched and booked on emirates instead. Apparently this rule is either enforced or not depends on the discretion of luftansa personel. So be carefull if you are on advance parole- Looks like germans also trying to get on the Visa Fee pie.

Nevertheless, I did not take transit visa, and with visa stamping expired in March 2010, I travelled with AP on Lufthansa from IAD to BLR in December, and returned in Jan 2011, and nobody even mentioned the word "transit" anywhere along the route. Lufthansa staff is very knowledgeable about AP, both in Wash.Dulles and BLR. In fact, In BLR I saw that even Air France also does not require transit visa for Paris and allowed people with AP to board without transit visa. So folks, dont waste time and money on transit visa. Nothing is going to happen , unless you miss your connecting flight in Frankfurt, in which case you will not get to stay in a hotel and would have to spend the transit time in the airport.

I am sorry for you. But this issue is on IV's list. Infact we discussed this issue also with lawmakers on Sep 17th & 18th campaign. This point was included in the material that we gave to lawmakers. So it is very important for us to do our active role/participation for IV's action items. Please join state chapters and motivate other people who are in same situation. We can make a difference.
Thats true..everybody are bothered about EAD and FP. I am here for more than 8 years in this country. IV should emphasise this and USICS should allow affected candidates like us to file I-485 and atleast get EAD. we have priority date earlier compared to others.

What about if the I-140(EB2) rejected?. The 485 will be rejected too?. What are the possibilities of I-140 rejection?

The request to adjudicate I-485 will go out only after EB-2 I-140 is approved. I-140 rejection "should" not trigger your pending EB-3 I-485 rejection but it all depends on how the IO interprets your case. He could issue an RFE (I would guess) asking for an EVL for your EB-3 case. In my colleague's case however, TSC automatically adjudicated the I-485 since the new EB-2 I-140 carried the same Alien# as the pending I-485. It seems TSC has a system in place to identify such cases, NSC doesn't. Another colleague of mine whose I-485 is pending at NSC and EB-2 I-140 approved at TSC is still waiting for I-485 approval and its been a month since his I-140 was approved.
