A Night with Kelly Clarkson!

Yes, believe it or not, I GOT TO SEE KELLY CLARKSON LIVE IN MALAYSIA! EEEEEKKKKK!!!!!!

Don't believe me? Look what I've got!

I was soo surprised when I came back home from school last Friday to see mom with 5 tickets to the concert in her hands! Its my very first concert!!

I came with my bro Daniel, cousin Sam and Jon and Roann, a friend of mine.

I'm telling you, there are no words good enough to express our excitement when coming to the concert. I was even prepared to dress up as a reporter, go backstage and meet Kelly Clarkson to 'interview' her.

We arrived around sevenish and the place is crowded! There are all kinds of people selling souveniers as well as people giving out freebies, which, of course, is my favourite!

Check out all the stuff I got by the time I got to my seat! Free of charge! I love freebies!

That's the stage where the performance will take place.

Check out all the excited fans out there! We're all soo excited even before it was time for Kelly to perform!

To kick start the concert, our first Malaysian Idol, Jaclyn Victor was there to perform.

Surprisingly, she sang pretty well. In fact, I liked it! She sang some of the few well known songs in Malaysia such as Lagenda.

Next came another Asian celeb, Suki, winner of 'One in a Million' 2006. She entered with a 15k dress with a long train and a violin.

This time, however, she sang a Malay song which she hasn't done in a long time!

Then, we saw a silver van slowly heading towards the stage. The lights were dimmed and then....

THERE SHE WAS! IN THE FLESH!!!!

It was soooo awesome! There were live music and lights everywhere! We were all so excited that we screamed our lungs out especially Roann, whose scream is sharp and piercing!

There were even those few guys behind us who were standing up the whole time, dancing and singing throughout the entire show.

During the performance, some of my favourite songs that she sang were:
Because of You
Since You've Been Gone
All I Ever Wanted

And there was this fun song that I really liked but, I didn't get the title..

We all sang(and shouted) till we ran out of voice.

After the show, we bought souveniers because the price was cheaper compared to that before the show. At first the guy said it costs RM10 and I was like no way.

Then, after the show, I saw another guy selling stuff for RM10 as well and I walked away. But then, this other guy who sold the same thing said its RM5 and I totally stopped at my tracks.

I could see that everybody was in a merry mood! I even saw two crazy white girls dressed in black singlets and glowing bright red devil horned headbands sticking their heads out of the car roof shouting, "KELLY CLARKSON SAW US MAN! SHE SAW US! AND SHE WAS LIKE I'M GONNA MEET YOU AT YOUR HOME TONIGHT AND..." I didn't catch what they said.

During the entire half hour, they were still up there shouting at the car next to them who looked extremely uncomfortable. And they waved their hands in the air going, "FACEBOOK! FACEBOOK!!!!"

Crazy fans....

Breakfast of Champions

I usually eat a healthy breakfast every morning after getting out of bed. Juice with some fruit and water. Usually, orange, apple, or pear juice along with a banana, or oranges. With yogurt and more fruit sometime in the evening when I get home, this rounds out the day with some balanced nutrition as I find cooked vegetables somewhat lacking in the diet here. And, I love cooked veggies. I have tried various types of juice here as well as various types of yogurt. The ones in the pic above are the best tasting and most natural from what I can tell. They certainly are not the cheapest, but are the best IMHO.

Fresh fruits are always available, but I find them lacking in sweetness most of the time. Trying different ones does not seem to make any difference. About the only fruits that have any sweetness to them are the persimmons in the non-GMO form; ie., original form. Unfortunately, they are only seasonal and the season has long passed. Sometimes, though, I have lucked out on the odd bag of Mandarin oranges that have turned out to be very sweet. It all seems to be pretty hit and miss even with the same brand and day/week of purchase. Maybe there's some secret I've yet to discover about fruits here and how to buy the sweetest ones.

On Being Sick

It's been a while since I updated my blog. And, for good reason. I've been sick. I've actually been quite lucky with illnesses since getting here; I lasted at least six months before anything major happened. Sure, there have been the minor little things I usually get. But, nothing debilitating at all. At least not until now.

I think my first real illness came sometime in late February. It was a 48 hour flu bug of some sorts. I went to the doctor and was given some meds and things just ended as abruptly as they began a few days prior. No lingering affects that I was aware of. The most annoying aspect of it being not allowed to stay home and rest as the school would not allow it for more than one day. I mean, c'mon, what good am I in a half dead state to them anyways? And, there were not even any classes in session at the time as it was winter break. But, no, I had to be in there seat warming as my contract states only so and so many days off for such and such a reason. There is no logic in this!

Fast forward to the next month. I was sick for exactly two weeks in March with a mild cold. It was not at all bad with very mild symptoms. I OD'd on vitamin C as usual (3 grams every 3-4 waking hours) and it went away with very little suffering. Then, I had exactly another two weeks of good health again until the present cold hit.

Man! This one is a killer. I saw the doctor three times within a two and a half week time span. The third time he sent me to an ENT specialist. The ENT doc's meds worked the best so far. This so-called "common cold" (per doc's diagnosis) is one of the worst colds I have ever had. I spent three days at home in bed initially even though I dragged myself into the school to show them that I was really sick on day two. I could have spent the entire week in bed and wish I had. But, again, the school does not allow that sort of thing it seems. Getting any time off for legitimate illnesses seems impossible. So, I am working every day and making everyone else sick. I lost my voice for almost two weeks and am still hacking away every morning, afternoon, and night.

Whatever!

Update (May 17, 2010):
I'm now back to "normal" again, but it took over 6 weeks!

Artsy Fartsy With Luke and Madeline

Its been a looong week! Just came back from school after the open book test. So far so good. The only thing standing in my way now is that friggin Accounts test! Even if I could cheat or look at a book, I still don't get it. Who the hell says that Accounts is easier than Science!?

But anyway, I feel like I haven't been posting updates with pictures in it and I don't have much to do. So, I thought I'd better finish something I should have done a long time ago. This time, my subject is about my nephew and niece, Luke and Madeline.

So about Madeline, she likes dressing up, Barbie dolls, princesses and shopping (yeah, believe it or not).

By the way, that dress is mine (don't get the wrong idea!). I had it when I was 6 years old when I had a ballet concert. Our theme was Beauty and the Beast so the dress is supposed to look like Belle's ball gown.

I kept all my barbie dolls (but I don't play with them anymore) and that dress 'cause it looked so pretty that I didn't have the heart to give it away. So, when Madeline came to stay, she had a blast!

But not for me, she keeps following me everywhere I go and she likes to copy me as well. And don't go telling me that its cute or thats normal because I'm very well aware of that but I can't deny that it is really annoying.

As for Luke, he likes action figures, soldiers and Kung Fu. And he's quite agile for his age too.

Sometimes I play badminton with him and he's pretty good for a first timer. One time, I wrestled him to the ground because he was misbehaving by kicking and punching at me. We stayed on the ground for quite sometime despite his constant struggle while I was watching TV :P

And there was the day mom decided to let them do some artwork on a plain white T-shirt. We brought out the materials like paint, brushes and stuff.
Then we took it outside for them to paint!
Meanwhile, mom was there to help supervise them.

Luke was done shortly after. So, he got out the old scooter and began... erm.... scooting.

He's not allowed outside though. And that's exactly what my dog, Speedy told him. After that, he met the neighbour dog, Tao Tao.

Although Speedy hates Tao Tao to the guts, Tao Tao on the other hand have always wanted to be her friend.

And here's the final product of Luke and Madeline's masterpiece!

Windows 7 TuneUp Suite

What's up my dear readers?

By request, I'd like to introduce you to Windows 7 TuneUp Suite 4.7.241307.

Basically, this program is an all-purpose tool for better PC maintenance and security. Plus, it protects your computer from system crashes, repairs and maintains your PC health. Furthermore, it also removes uneeded internet clutter, regains valuable disk space, cleans your registry and tweak windows to perform better.

For people whose PCs are slow and jammed full of nonsense like mine, I'd strongly recommend them to try out this program. I tend to take loads of pictures and download them all into my computer but, beacuse of the hundreds of pictures I have taken in the past, I don't have much space even when I've already deleted some of my albums.

To find out more about this program, click on the link below:

Random Readup #7

This is what's gonna happen to you when you're in highschool; its a battlefield.

It tests your patience. Just the other day when I was at tuition, I was waiting for the teacher to mark my worksheet and so I waited...

10 minutes later...
it wasn't marked yet.

20 minutes later...
I came back to the teachers desk and its not marked yet.

30 minutes later...
Trying to remind the teacher that I still exist.

35 minutes later...
looking around for a hidden camera. I swear I must be in MTV's Boiling Point. No success.

40 minutes later...
Dreamnt about the classic; coming to school half naked; I was only wearing the shirt.

50 minutes later...
FINALLY! Its marked!

And the reason why it took the teacher so long to mark my worksheet is because one after another, 3 guys including my brother kept taking turns one after the other to ask the teacher about their work! And it has been going on for about 50 minutes or even more!

The worst part is when we're finally done, my brother was like, "Teacher said you can go home right after you're done." I swear I felt like strangling him! Except, his neck is too big, he's too tall and he'd probably kill me if I attempted that.

Even today, it was raining cats and dogs! Right after I finished school, it began to rain heavily with lightning and thunderstorm. As I made my way to the bus stop just outside the school, I was splashed into a huge puddle, soaked by the rain and my bag weighs a ton as I had to put all my books into my bag to save them from getting wet.

The only shelter I had on my way to the bus stop was my P.E shirt.

By the time I reached there, my shoes became little swimming pools for my feet and basically, I was soaked head to toe. Unfortunately, the shirt wasn't much help.

And then came the bus. It was cold in there because not only was I wet, I also had to endure the air condition blowing at me the whole time. I looked outside the window to see the place all flooded. At this point, I was beginning to think that taking the bus wasn't such a good idea.

When the bus reached my stop, with my heavy bag of bricks (books), I ran all the way(okay, maybe walked a bit) uphill to my house. On the way, a car went pass me and the people in the car was looking at me and kinda smiled at me. I don't know weather it was the look-at-that-girl-running-with-a-t-shirt-on-her-head kind of smile or just the normal hello smile, but, I couldn't care less.

The Joy of Easter

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!
Ah! The day Jesus was resurrected after being crucified; the biggest miracle of all. Plus, this easter is one of those special easters when my grandma shares her 82nd birthday on that same day!

So on the first day of easter, our whole family headed off for Johor Bahru to celebrate my grandma's birthday. During that time, cousin *Bob was fast asleep and because Sam happened to have lip gloss, I had this twisted idea to give him a makeover!

Aww..... isn't that sweet?

Cousin *Bob and *Billy Bob XD

When we were at the restaurant where grandma's birthday was to be held, there was lots of food!!

Check it out! It even has dried ice somewhere at the bottom so that it has this smokey effect O.O Even this one!

Those were prawns I believe, absolutely delicious! Grandma has always wanted to try one of these. At least, that's what I heard.

Did I mention that the Bishop came to celebrate grandma's birthday as well?

We had such a wonderful time in the end and I think its one of the best Easter yet! How was your Easter?

* Note that the names mentioned above are not their real names. But, their picture is already up which totally defeats the point :P
